This year, the TDSB launched a 1:1 student device program for students in Grades 5 and 9. The program offers students a district-owned and managed Chromebook for educational use that is assigned directly to the student and stays with them over a four-year period, 24/7.
Students take their device home each night, on weekends and over holidays to support their school work and digital connection and bring them to school each day to support their in-class learning. It enhances their learning experiences by enabling them to engage with digital tools and content and increase their digital literacy skills in a blended learning environment. When used in class, technology can help make learning more collaborative, engaging and even fun!
This Board-wide initiative supports learning through technology, digital citizenship and our commitment to equity of access to technology.
