With an internet connection, students have access to the world at their fingertips. But in a recent TDSB survey, more than 5,000 students indicated that they do not have reliable internet access at home. Without home internet access, students face an incredible disadvantage when completing and submitting assignments, collaborating with their classmates, and accessing digital content. Add to that the barriers students without reliable internet faced while Toronto schools were closed during the pandemic, which created large learning gaps between students.
The internet is an ongoing, monthly expense, out of reach for many families. A gift can help provide internet for a family -- many with multiple students at home -- and open their world beyond their home.
