A scheduled Interpreter must provide a notice of cancellation within 48 hours.
Assignments cancelled by the Interpreter or the Translator without just cause must be reported, by the person who requested the Interpreter/Translator, to the Parent and Community Engagement Office (PCEO) at PCEO@tdsb.on.ca within 24 hours of the cancelation.
The PCEO will investigate the reported assignment cancellation(s) and take any necessary actions. These actions may include termination of the Interpreter/Translator assignment with the TDSB.

Cancellation of a Translator – SmartFind (SFE) and Approved Roster
Translators are paid for the translations of documents unless the translation performed is of poor quality or has not been delivered to client prior to or on the agreed upon deadline. The quality of the translation will be verified by contacting PCEO@tdsb.on.ca. Cancellation of a translation request must occur within ½ hour of transmitting the original document. Failure to do so will result in full payment for the assignment.
Cancellation of a Translator – Outside Vendors
When securing translations via MCIS Translation Service (MCIS), MCIS will communicate with the requester, copying PCEO, a quote for the request. This is the point where the translation can be cancelled. The requester will be charged full fee (according to guidelines) if a cancellation happens after this point.
