PLC for TDSB Teachers: Climate Change Literacy & Leadership Program

Looking for ways to integrate Climate Change Education (CCE) into your teaching? The TDSB’s board-wide Professional Learning Community helps teachers to develop knowledge and skills to lead CCE in your classroom and community.

Begun in 2023, the Climate Change Literacy & Leadership Program (CLLP) uses a collaborative inquiry approach to centre teachers’ interests, experiences and expertise in CCE as the starting point. Through teamwork and mentoring, the CLLP supports teachers’ ongoing learning to deepen their skills in facilitating CCE learning and climate justice approaches with their students and colleagues. Teachers are provided with release to engage in four days of professional learning throughout the school year, working in collaboration with other teachers, EcoSchools leaders & OISE faculty. This PLC is suitable for teachers with some experience in Environmental & Sustainability Education, who would like to further develop their knowledge, practice, and leadership skills in CCE.

Applications will re-open in the fall of 2024. Questions? EcoSchools@tdsb.on.ca
