Ward Forums

As the Trustee for our community of schools I regularly hold events that share information and provide opportunities for parents to learn and share from each other. These events are called Ward Forums. This school year there will be number of Ward Forums held for Ward 10 University - Rosedale and Toronto Centre. These meetings may be in person or virtual. Ward 10 Forum: Caring and Safe Schools | PIAC Election

DATE: Thursday, March 6, 2025
TIME: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
LOCATION: Online via Zoom

Dear Ward 10 Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, School Councils, Student Councils, School Staff, and Community Members:
Please join us for a Ward 10 Forum with Trustee Williams for a discussion of fostering caring, safe and inclusive school communities where all students feel valued, a sense of joy, engagement, and belonging. We will also have updates from the Superintendents and hold the election of the Ward 10 Parent Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC) Co-Representatives - 2 Positions. Everyone is welcome.

UPDATE: On December 17, 2024, PIAC declared one vacant PIAC Co-Representative position in Ward 9, Ward 10, Ward 15, and Ward 22. The current Ward 10 PIAC Co-Representative’s two-year term expires in February 2025. Elections for Ward 10 Parent Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC) Co-Representative - 2 Positions are scheduled to take place at the Ward 10 Forum on March 6, 2025 (Online via Zoom).

* PIAC Co-Representatives' role and responsibilities include participating in at least one PIAC Working Group; and attending Ward meetings/forums to provide PIAC updates and to garner community feedback to bring Ward information and recommendations back to PIAC.

Learning Opportunities Index (LOI) Public Policy Consultations

TDSB Trustees and Staff from the Research and Development department will be hosting four public consultation sessions across the city on the draft policy for the Learning Opportunities Index (LOI). These sessions ensure families, students, and community members have the opportunity to learn more about the LOI and how it is used to support schools. There will be opportunities to ask questions and share feedback on the dates listed below. If you are unable to attend any of the sessions, please share your feedback online.

West End LOI Public Consultation

  • Date and Time: Thursday February 20, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM 
  • Location: In person at 1 Civic Centre Court, Etobicoke, ON M9C 2B3

East End LOI Public Consultation 

  • Date and Time: Thursday March 6, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM 
  • Location: In person at 140 Borough Drive, Scarborough, ON M1P 4N6

Downtown LOI Public Consultation

  • Date and Time: Tuesday March 18, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
  • Location: In person at Central Technical School, 725 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON M5S 2R5

Virtual LOI Public Consultation

  • Date and Time: Thursday March 20, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
  • Location: Webinar link will be shared on Thursday March 20

Hybrid LOI Public Consultation

  •  Date and Time: Thursday, April 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM
  • Location: Hybrid (in person and virtual) meeting at 5050 Yonge Street, North York, ON M2N 5N8 with virtual link shared on Thursday, April 3
