More than 50% of students in the TDSB speak at least one additional language other than English. TDSB values the cultural and linguistic diversity of our students, which is why students are encouraged to build on their first language skills in addition to acquiring English. Whether students are new to Canada or born in Canada and are learning English at school, the ESL curriculum and equity policies in TDSB ensures English Language Learners have the support they need to be successful and meet their lifelong learning goals.
