Child Welfare and Care belongs to all of us. The safety and well-being of each student is a top priority and we take the recommendations from the Jeffrey Baldwin Inquest seriously. The Inquest resulted in 103 recommendations to 13 institutions, including the Toronto District School Board.
The Child and Family Services Act defines a child in need of protection as a child who is or who appears to be suffering from abuse and/or neglect. The Act clearly specifies how you can identify these children in Section 72 (1).
For more information on how you might help a child in need, Boost is an organization that is committed to supporting communities in eliminating abuse and violence in the lives of children, youth, and their families and their site offers a number of helpful resources.
