Summary of Decisions
On May 22, 2024, the Board of Trustees approved a boundary change for the Fort York area. Effective September 1, 2025, the Fort York area will be assigned to The Waterfront School for all elementary grades, from JK to grade 8.
This boundary change does not impact any students currently attending Niagara Street Junior Public School or Ryerson Community School. Current students may remain at Niagara Street Junior Public School and Ryerson Community School until they graduate, and also be allowed to keep their current intermediate school pathway until they graduate.
In addition, siblings of students currently attending either school will be allowed to attend Niagara Street Junior Public School (for JK to 6) and Ryerson Community School (for Grades 7 and 8) provided their older sibling is attending the school at the time that they enter the school and be allowed to remain until they graduate.
For the 2024-25 school year only, students residing in the Fort York area are offered the choice to attend Niagara Street Junior Public School (for JK to 6) and Ryerson Community School (for Grades 7 and 8) or The Waterfront School (for JK to 8). If you are interested in this option for your child, please reach out to The Waterfront School administrative office for further information on the registration process. The Waterfront School can be reached via phone at (416) 393-8500 or email at Waterfront@tdsb.on.ca. The Waterfront School is located at 635 Queens Quay W, Toronto, ON, M5V 3G3.
